Marketing All-Rounder Job Vacancy

Are you a marketing all-rounder looking for a new challenge?  Do you have experience of conjuring up brilliant marketing ideas for e-commerce businesses in the fashion and clothing sectors?  If so, we need you!

We’re a group of family-run e-commerce businesses based in rural Devon.  We’re looking for a part-time marketing genius to join our team and help us raise the profile of our four e-commerce brands, attract new customers and increase sales.

We’re looking for an organised, creative and flexible person willing to not only help deliver day-to-day marketing activities and social media content, but also turn our current somewhat reactive approach to marketing into a well-planned, proactive and efficient marketing machine.

You’ll be helping promote two brands in the preloved children’s clothing sector, one brand that produces personalised clothing for children and adults and a luxury sock brand targeting affluent and equestrian customers.  Yes, this is a varied and challenging role!

The role will be based in our office in Coldridge, Devon most of the time. Working from home for some of the time may be possible once you are familiar with the role and there might be a small amount of evening and weekend work.

Finding the right person who can help us take our businesses forwards is the most important thing for us, so hours and rates of pay are negotiable.  Working hours could be arranged around nursery and school hours, if necessary.

Are you right for the job?

Is this you?

  • You’ve got a minimum of 2-years’ experience working in a similar digital marketing role.
  • You’re self-motivated, organised and adaptable.
  • You’ve got experience of putting together marketing plans for e-commerce brands.
  • You’re an imaginative content creator who knows how to get traction on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok (and other social media platforms we probably haven’t heard of yet).
  • You’re a decent copywriter and know how to put together engaging email marketing content.
  • You’re familiar with the baby, children’s and adult clothing sectors and get fired up by fashion.
  • Ideally, you’ll know something about the equestrian marketplace – maybe you even ride horses yourself.
  • Experience with photography, video production and the creation of graphics for marketing materials would be a huge advantage.
  • If you’ve organised a product photo shoot before, that would be brilliant!
  • And, it would be a bonus if you’ve got experience with Mailchimp, Shopify and Google Ads.

This is a varied role and we’re looking for someone willing to muck in and make a real difference to our businesses.

About us

We’re a group of family businesses and we’re expanding our team after recently acquiring two new brands.  This role is new to the business and having someone driving our marketing activities is a crucial component of our plan to grow all of the businesses and brands.

Until now, all marketing activities have been delivered by two increasingly-busy business owners.

The businesses are all based in a lovely, heated building on a farm near Coldridge, which is where you’ll be working.

We’re really passionate about what we do and love our businesses.  We’re looking for someone who will join our small team, understand the businesses in the way we do and bring new ideas and energy to our marketing activities.

Although we are hard-working folk, our office is friendly, relaxed and intentionally not like most warehouse-run ecommerce businesses.

Oh, and we like tea. There’s almost always a cuppa on the go (coffee also available, if you prefer).

What else do you need to know?

  • This is a part-time role on an initial 12-month contract.
  • The employment term will be extended if the role is successful.
  • The office is open Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, but the hours for this role are negotiable and could include a small amount of evening or weekend working (content publishing).
  • Rates of pay will be dependent on experience and availability.
  • You will be entitled to a pro-rata equivalent of 4-weeks of paid annual leave.
  • We’ll pay a company pension contribution.
  • You’ll be working at our premises near Coldridge, Devon.

Key skills

You’ll be in with a real chance of landing the job if:

  1. You have experience taking photographs using a camera, mobile phone or tablet;
  2. You have some knowledge of baby and children’s clothes – perhaps as a parent who buys/bought clothes for your own kids;
  3. Your English teacher gave you good marks for spelling and grammar;
  4. You’ve got an eye for a good Insta photo or experience making videos or reels;
  5. You’ve got some experience of email marketing, using a tool like Mailchimp.
